As part of NISHATI’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the capacity of partner institutions across East Africa, a team of professors from Sapienza University of Rome, the project coordinator, conducted a comprehensive Training of Trainers (ToT) program at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Tanzania.
The training focused on enhancing pedagogical skills, advancing thematic expertise, and equipping academic staff with modern approaches to teaching in the fields of eco-agriculture, water management, and renewable energy. Participants engaged in interactive discussions, collaborative group sessions, and practical exercises designed to support the integration of innovative methodologies into university curricula.
This initiative underscores the importance of ToT activities within the NISHATI Project, ensuring that knowledge and expertise gained through international collaboration can be effectively transferred to local faculty members and extended to wider student communities. By empowering academic staff, NISHATI strengthens institutional resilience and promotes long-term sustainability in teaching, research, and community impact.
The partnership between Sapienza University of Rome and Sokoine University of Agriculture continues to demonstrate the value of cross-regional academic collaboration, fostering meaningful exchange of expertise and contributing to the project’s broader goals of green growth and sustainable development.
