Kabale University is a public higher education institution located in southwestern Uganda, with a strong mandate in science, technology, agriculture, environment, and community-focused development. The University plays a critical role in training professionals, advancing applied research, and supporting sustainable livelihoods within the Albertine Rift and the wider East African region.
Under the NISHATI Project, Kabale University contributes to capacity building in eco-agriculture, water management, and renewable energy through curriculum development, applied research, staff training, and community engagement. The University is actively involved in strengthening eco-laboratories, promoting climate-smart agriculture, advancing green energy solutions for rural development, and fostering innovation-driven education aligned with the Green Deal and sustainable development goals.
Kabale University’s participation in NISHATI reinforces its commitment to climate resilience, sustainable resource management, youth skills development, and green job creation in Uganda and across East Africa.
