As part of the NISHATI Project’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional capacity across East Africa, experts from Sapienza University of Rome, the project’s coordinating institution, successfully conducted a Training of Trainers (ToT) session at Mzumbe University in Tanzania.
This training initiative focused on equipping academic staff with the pedagogical tools and practical methodologies needed to deliver the new and upcoming NISHATI courses effectively. Participants engaged in interactive presentations, collaborative group discussions, and hands-on activities designed to enhance teaching strategies in the thematic areas of eco-agriculture, water management, and renewable energy.
By fostering a strong foundation of trained educators, the ToT program ensures that knowledge gained through international collaboration is transferred sustainably to local institutions. This effort strengthens curriculum implementation, enhances teaching quality, and supports the long-term impact of the NISHATI Project on higher education in Tanzania and beyond.
The collaboration between Sapienza University of Rome and Mzumbe University highlights the importance of shared expertise and capacity development in building resilient academic systems capable of addressing regional sustainability challenges.
